Hwy 41 Corridor
Driving COMMERCE
One strength of the Hwy 41Corridor is its economic diversity. The Corridor has major clusters of businesses in advanced production systems, small engines, household appliances, paper, nonwoven fabrics, electronics, transportation, plastics, logistics, printing, insurance, health services, telecommunications and an expanding technology market.
The Hwy 41 Corridor is the #1 region in the USA in paper and allied products and led the State of Wisconsin in job creation and population growth during the last three decades. Its population base of nearly 1,000,000 has grown approximately 15% over the past decade and is projected to continue a similar growth pattern for the next 10 to 20 years.
In addition to Hwy 41 (the North-South arterial that defines the Corridor and connects the region to Chicago, Milwaukee, and Canada), East-West travel flows steadily via four major thoroughfares: Highways 29, 10, 21 and 151. This efficient system makes commerce to and from all major markets an advantage offered by the Hwy 41 Corridor. The region is within 8 highway hours of 1/3 of the major US markets.
Each of the major communities along the Hwy 41 Corridor has a significant airport presence, providing direct flights to major cities and airport hubs around the nation, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The region provides international service and is home to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), host of the worlds largest sport aviation event.
Additional national and international access is available from three other airports within an hours drive of the Corridor, and a two-hour jaunt to Chicago affords you the opportunity to fly directly to your global destination.
The Corridor benefits from an international rail system that allows businesses to utilize all avenues to bring products, goods and services to the world.
The Hwy 41 Corridor continues to be an employment magnet for Northeast Wisconsin providing challenging and rewarding careers. For employers, it presents a significant critical mass of employment that draws its workforce from a much broader region. Wisconsins second-largest and most qualified and dedicated workforce can be found along the Hwy 41 Corridor.
